Seasonal Beekeeping: Moving into Fall & Winter – IN-PERSON CLASS

Beekeepers! Have you been asking yourself what the heck should I do in the Fall and Winter?

This class is designed to give Beekeepers the practical skills and the confidence you need to successfully overwinter your beehive(s) as a new beekeeper or someone who hasn’t had overwintering success but doesn’t want to give up!

Topics of discussion will include:

  •  Understanding your individual colonies better
  • Fall feeding
  • Managing pests
  • Minimizing winter damage in your apiary
  • Mountain-Camp method of feeding (demonstration)
  • To wrap or not wrap your hive (demonstration)

About the teacher:
Carmen Joyce, a second-generation beekeeper, has propelled NoogaHoneyPot since its inception in 2019. She has completed the Journeyman portion the Master Beekeeper Program at the University of Montana. With 35 hives, Carmen boasts a 100% overwinter success rate, underlining her expertise and commitment to sustainable beekeeping. All of her bees are feral colonies collected either from swarms or honeybee removals. Carmen harnesses her background as an educator to enrich and inspire, teaching the nuances of beekeeping through classes, speaker events, and a vibrant social media presence.
